Senior Programs

Senior citizens are often considered one of the most isolated and forgotten populations of the community. Due to health problems, distant or deceased family members, senior citizens are often placed in nursing homes, assisted living communities or live alone in their homes. The goal of MOSAIC's Senior Program is to connect these seniors with a volunteer to celebrate important occasions with them. Occasions include birthdays, national holidays, religious holidays, anniversaries and any other personal celebrations.

MOSAIC works with nursing home and assisted living program directors to find individuals in need of personalized one-on-one time and celebration. If you have a family member, friend or neighbor that could use individual attention, please contact MOSAIC. If you are a nursing home or assisted living program director and know MOSAIC would be able to assist any clients, please contact us. We would love to coordinate a celebration for an individual or group of individuals.

Once we receive referral information, MOSAIC contacts the person who referred an individual to get more information. We will ask specific questions on what the individual enjoys, as well as important health questions (such as allergy information and diet restrictions) so that we can put together an individualized gift package or celebration. Once we have the information we need, we will find a date and time that works well for the individual and schedule a MOSAIC volunteer to arrive!

Foster Care Children Programs

Not having a place called home is an important factor to a child’s development. Children in foster care can have an array of support depending on their foster family, location and organization working with them. Celebrations give families the opportunity to spend focused and individualized attention on a child and works to build self esteem and security.

We believe that children need to celebrate big moments in life, as well as every small success.

MOSAIC will be working with foster-child placement organizations, schools, and churches to pair up with children that can use some fun time. With the child’s opinion at hand, a MOSAIC volunteer will spend time with the child with a personalized party or a fun community outing.

If you are a family member, friend, neighbor or agency that works with foster care children that could use individual attention, please contact MOSAIC. Once we receive referral information, MOSAIC contacts the person who referred an individual to get more information. We will ask specific questions on what the individual enjoys, as well as important health questions (such as allergy information and diet restrictions) so that we can put together an individualized gift package or celebration. A date and time that works well with the individual will be schedule then the individual can look forward to a MOSAIC volunteer’s arrival.

Individuals with Disabilities Programs

Everyday difficulties and struggles brought to those also affect children and adults with disabilities. Struggles can come in the form of physical disabilities or frustration that can occur with cognitive disabilities. MOSAIC works to bring joy to individuals so that they can live with their family, on their own, or in residential group homes. Celebrations give individuals, with or without family, a moment to feel special. We believe that regardless of ability level, everyone deserves to be acknowledged in a unique manner.
